Who can be in the shoot:
You are welcome to bring up to two dogs and all family members for your 15 minute photo shoot. We will capture as much as we can in the time allotted. If you have a preference – dog portraits, family portraits – please let Hannele know at the beginning of your session.
What to wear?
Humans: We recommend wearing solid colors or neutral patterns and staying away from black or white. Bold stripes, graphics and text can be distracting in photographs. Think classic pieces that you'll still like 10 years from now.
Dogs: We will be at a winery...have fun with this!
When will I see the images?
We will provide a link to an online gallery to view the photos within two weeks. From this gallery, you will be able to pick your high res file, share watermarked photos on the web and order from our product catalog. Expect between 8-10 proofs to choose from.
About Hannele Lahti, A Dog Photographer
I love how dogs see the world.
To a dog, a ball is not just a ball. That shiny, slobbery plaything is an opportunity, a challenge, a steadfast companion. In my dog photography I strive to glimpse life on their level—A bowl of food is love and comfort. A warm bath is the ultimate back rub. A knock at the door is a chance to prove courage and loyalty. Therein capturing the reality of modern dog ownership—a reminder to enjoy the small things.
My journey with dogs began with Annie, my intensely brave and loving Boston terrier rescue, followed shortly after by her adopted brothers Murray and Ollie, who are just as full of life. This wild trio keeps me laughing and from taking life too seriously. They also brought about my passion for matching the click of a camera with the wagging tail of a happy dog.
My life in photography has been a wild ride. In addition to the chaotic world of canines, I pursue projects and assignments dedicated to my intense love of the natural world and exploration. I'm a contributing photographer to National Geographic Creative and a photo graduate of Rochester Institute of Technology. When I’m not making photos or chasing after the pups, I enjoy spending time in the great outdoors and practicing my downward dogs.
